From Forest to Fashion
In 2018, during a trip to Portugal's cork oak forests, our founder fell in love with this incredible material. Watching the sustainable harvest — where bark is carefully stripped without harming the trees — sparked a vision for a different kind of fashion brand.
Cork is nature's answer to the synthetic materials dominating the fashion industry. It's renewable, biodegradable, water-resistant, and surprisingly soft and luxurious to the touch. Best of all, harvesting cork actually helps the trees absorb more CO2.
Today, Corkea partners with family-owned workshops in Portugal, combining generations of artisan expertise with contemporary design. Every bag we create is a tribute to sustainable craftsmanship and the beauty of natural materials.
